Five Gold Rings
This irresistibly quirky show is full of panto-style fun, ideal for KS2. Two children learn to put aside their differences and recognise each other’s strengths. In so doing, they discover the true ‘gold’ that can be given at Christmas!
The show begins with a school carol concert that is almost over! The children are singing their way through ‘The Twelve Days of Christmas’, but when they get to the words 'five gold rings’ the song gets stuck: "Five, five, five, five..." In something like a time warp, Matt and Lucy (who are far from friends!) find themselves whisked away to a strange land, where they meet Mr. Partridge of pear tree fame! He tells them that everything is in a muddle because the fifth gold ring is missing. The Turtle Doves are squabbling, the Calling Birds are glued to their phones and the French Hens are plain eccentric! With the help of three 'assistants' (Fiver, Goldy and Ringo), Matt and Lucy must find the fifth ring and return everything to normal.

"A very good inclusive show, giving lots of opportunities for children to be involved. It can be staged at either a minimal or ostentatious level! Our pupils loved the songs; the tunes for the new ones are very catchy, and it's good to have some traditional material included as part of the package."
